Housing in Ortonville
Today we are highlighting housing options in the community of Ortonville. Ortonville sits along the shores of Big Stone Lake, our largest populated town, and our County Seat (Big Stone County). Check out Ortonville’s www.relaxurhere.com landing page which provides a quick overview of the community.
We’ll start with Fairway View Communities (pictured above, as the header of this page). To start, we should mention that there is no long-term lease requirement – you can rent month to month! If you are 55+ years old and looking for an apartment (without services or as the name implies – “catered” options based on your selections!), make sure to check out Fairway view – great access (and views) to our 18-hole municipal course, not much of a drive down to the Big Stone Lake docks if fishing is your thing, and of course plenty of biking, hiking, and hunting options. With someone else taking care of the lawn and housing maintenance, you are left with more time for some fun! — As you can see from the photo, there are multiple sections to the Fairway View Senior Communities complex – they also offer assisted living and Fairway View Neighborhoods which have a skilled nursing staff. There are also a few short-term stay rooms (hotel-type feel, photo of one included below) for those visiting family & friends living at Fairway view — and if you would like to try out the facility or are in need of an apartment with more convenience while you are recovering and are in need of home health or physical therapy services, they have a short-term stay! Coming soon… work has started up again on the Northridge building, shown below. There will be 1, 2 & 3 bedroom apartments. This location is next to the ballfields, Northside Park Playground, and a block from the Municipal Swimming Pool & playground.
The City of Ortonville created new residential housing lots when the new access road was constructed for the expansion of Fairway View. More housing will be constructed soon! All available lots have been purchased.
