Robotics
2019: The Big Stone County 4-H Aquatic Robotics/AIS Team traveled to Washington D.C. This team was recognized at the national level receiving the President's Environmental Youth Award for their work in Aquatic Invasive Species education. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency honored the work of these youth!
Thank you to the Otter Tail Big Stone Plant employees who donated $640 to the Big Stone County 4-H Aquatic Robotics/AIS Education Team to help cover the trip the team took to Washington D.C. to receive the President's Environmental Youth Award!

Photo below: Robotics volunteer, Matt Karels, an engineer at Otter Tail Power Big Stone Plant provided a tour that included a great view at the top of the power plant! This 4-H group had an amazing time learning about Matt's job and where their electricity comes from that runs their homes and their electric devices.
This year was the first annual Ag Career Day in Big Stone County
A great first year-event, thanks to Suzanne Souza and Heidi Torgerson of Big Stone County 4-H and the Minnesota Farm Bureau (Kari Casper and Kobie Morrill – great job!) along with all the support of this year’s Presenters (see logos below!) and assistance by the Big Stone Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and the Ortonville Economic Development Authority! -- CGB and Ortonville Schools brought 170 students to the event.
And so many activities that support our communities! (Thank you to our 4-H youth!!)
And, yes. The Big Stone County Fair is a great showplace for many of the 4-H activities that have been happening throughout the year!
